All you avocado lovers, this one is for you!
Hello it’s Celeste from The Whole Serving, here today with one of my favorite summer dips, Guacamole. I hope you like this as much as we do in my house.
Guacamole is by far the quickest and easiest dips to make and it’s so versatile. There are so many different recipes out there, I can’t even begin to count. There’s a local restaurant that makes guac on demand at your table. The waitress push the cart around to your table and makes it right there in front of you, putting whatever ingredient you want in your guac. It’s amazing the many ways guac can be made.
This recipe sticks close to the basic recipe, with the exception of mango. There are so many varieties of mangos, but the one I like the best is Ataulfos. They are vibrant yellow with a smooth sweet and creamy flavor, so this is the one I use always. Feel free to use your favorite.
When shopping for the avocados make sure to pick ripe ones, not to hard and not to soft and squishy. There’s a trick that I use when picking avocados that so far has help me pick nice ripe green ones. I simply pull the stem out on the top and if it’s green, it’s a go, if it had brown spots, I put the stem back and it goes back into the stack. There is nothing worse than buying what you think will be a good ripe avocado and cutting into it to find that it is filled with brown.
During the summer this is a popular dip in my house. It’s so quick and easy to make and everyone love it. If the crowd in your house is anything like the one in my house, it won’t last long. It’s also pretty tasty on tacos.
