To me, having a large snack area like this at the holidays is essential. I don’t know about your family, but with mine we are together pretty much the entire day.

We only have our one main meal on Thanksgiving but of course, everyone is famished before that. We set out a bunch of appetizers so everyone can nibble before the main course.

So, I wanted to do my own take on it for this year and let me just say… this is one ultimate snack station! After making this station and taking all my photos I know I lingered here for a good 30 minutes snacking and shoving cheese in my mouth. It was glorious.

The main star of the snack station are these yummy Ham and Gouda TRISCUIT Toppers. They are a cinch to make and I will insert the recipe at the bottom of this post so you can print it out.

Basically, you just line out 36 TRISCUITS on a sheet tray. Top them with slices of honey ham and smoked gouda. I got mine from the deli section at Publix…. it is an epic deli. I only get my lunch meats here and my subs…. along with other yummies!

Pop them in a preheated 350 degree oven for 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Take them out, top with whole berry cranberry sauce, parsley and you have all the flavors of Thanksgiving in one little bite… YUM!

Along with my TRISCUIT Toppers, I had two cheese trays. The first was a more neutral, group friendly variety. I had grapes with Parmesiano Reggiano cheese, horseradish cheddar and colby jack cheese which I cubed. Again, from Publix!

That horseradish cheedar is my FAVORITE deli cheese, I put it on my sandwiches all the time, YUM!

Next, for the more adventurous, another platter with herbed goat cheese, Gorgonzola and feta. Also, with grapes!

Yummy, yummy. I put out a bunch of other snacky things like sweet potato chips, sugared cranberries, dried apricots and sourdough pretzel pieces. More whole berry cranberry sauce and honey to pair with the cheeses. And, of course more TRISCUITS and slices of multi grain bread!

For a cheese tray station or snack station like this to work, you need a wide variety of flavors and textures. Make sure you have a few sweet things, that is key. I know it sounds weird but cheese and something sweet goes so well together. I made the sugared cranberries to keep with the theme of the TRISCUIT toppers.

The grapes go so perfectly with any cheese and dried apricots or figs work well too. But, like I mentioned earlier the Ham and Gouda TRISCUIT Toppers are really the star here. YUM!
