Apple Banana Oat Muffins, an easy, on-the-go snack with the flavors of banana bread! Super easy to whip up and great for breakfast or dessert.
I’m a huge muffin person, and we love to keep them around all the time, any flavor really we don’t care, but these Apple Banana Oat Muffins are one of our favorites.
They are packed with tons of different flavors that work so well together, and the texture is amazing as well, soft and moist with a hint of oats.
Perfect for your favorite breakfast or even a great dessert! You really just cannot go wrong when making these Apple Banana Oat Muffins.
They are also great for kids, our daughter gobbles them up whenever we have them around. They are one of her favorite snacks to have during the day.
More on the “healthier” side, these are great for back-to-school, bake sales, brunches, and more. They are just an overall great muffin that comes together easily.

WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE BELOW):
All-purpose flour
Old fashioned oats
Granulated sugar
Baking powder
Baking soda
Salt
Egg
Milk
Vegetable oil
Bananas
Apple
HOW TO MAKE APPLE BANANA OAT MUFFINS:
- Pre heat oven to 400 degrees. Place all of the dried ingredients in a bowl and mix to combine.
- In a large separate bowl, add in the remaining ingredients and mix to combine.
- Pour the dry mixture into the wet mixture about ¼ of the bowl at a time and mix with a spoon until just wet and combined. DO NOT OVER MIX.
- Line a cupcake tin with paper baking cups. Pour mix into baking cups 2/3 of the way. Sprinkle a pinch of granulated sugar on top of each muffin.
- Bake 18-20 minutes, until golden brown on the top and a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
- Let cool on a wired rack for 2 minutes in the tin. Take muffins out and place back on wired rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
CAN I ADD IN OTHER MIX-INS?
Some yummy mix-ins include chocolate chips, cinnamon chips, peanut butter chips, chopped walnuts or pecans, or butterscotch chips.
CAN SOME SPICES BE ADDED?
While these are great on their own try adding some ground cinnamon or ground nutmeg for a fun twist.
CAN I DOUBLE THIS RECIPE?
Trust me, you might want to double this recipe, especially if you have kids, as they go quickly. They are easy to double. Just bake in 2 separate pans.
They keep for a while, so you can either have more for more people or keep some on hand for later.
HOW TO STORE:
These can be stored in an airtight container on the countertop, where they will keep for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
They can also be frozen, placed in a freezer container, and they will keep for up to 3 months. To defrost, remove to the countertop overnight until thawed.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- These are super family-friendly.
- Easily double this recipe.
- Add some cinnamon or nutmeg for a fun twist.
- Granny Smith apples are recommended to be used for this recipe.
- Make sure you use old-fashioned oats, quick cooking oats will break down too fast and will not work in this recipe.

Made this tonight and will definitely make again sometime. I tweaked the recipe a bit – did a mix of wholewheat and white flour, and subbed out 1/2 cup of flour for 1/2 cup of Quest banana cream protein powder. Trying to reduce my sugar intake so I halved the sugar, and did 3/4 cup mashed banana and 1/4 cup applesauce. Also left peel on the apples, and I must have made these smaller than you did because 15 minutes @350 was perfect. Super moist and on the healthier side, thanks for the recipe 😀 , wish I could give more than 5 stars
